Mission of the Mountainburg School District

The mission of the Mountainburg School District is to provide a safe and secure learning environment that enables all students to attain their full potential. The District will strive to provide the leadership and services necessary for a well developed educational program that promotes higher order thinking skills in literacy, math, and technology with the teaching and resources necessary to allow the students to compete successfully in the twenty-first century.

 FLOOD EVACUATION EXERCISE Minimize

The Mountainburg School District will be participating in a Flood Evacuation Exercise on Thursday, March 18. The time of this event is not known. This is going to be done so that the exercise is as real as possible. By law, public schools in Arkansas are to have a Crisis Plan. In this Crisis Plan, there must be strategies outlined for events that could occur because of the environment in which the school district is in, hence, the Lake Fort Smith Dam being in the Mountainburg School District.

At some point on Thursday, the siren will sound, and the campuses will begin evacuating. Letters were sent home and mailed home to each household explaining how this will work. Many agencies are going to be involved in this process. The campuses have all gone through practice drills so everyone knows what to expect.

We want to emphasize: There is no need for alarm. The Lake Fort Smith Dam is intact. This is only a drill.

 FRIENDLY REMINDERS.... Minimize

Every now and then, we need to put some friendly reminders here on the website for our parents and students...

  1. Please get all cafeteria charges paid as soon as possible. This is money that is used by our Food Services Department and it is necessary that these charges get paid. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Corette at 479-369-4224.
  2. Mrs. Christian, the Dragon Yearbook Adviser, sent home statements for yearbooks. Please be sending payments in soon. The yearbooks should arrive the first part of May. Extra yearbooks will be available to purchase after all paid in full orders have been covered. Cost for a yearbook after the books arrive will be $40.00. You may pre-pay to reserve a copy.
  3. Seniors - Graduation will be here before you know it!!! Make sure you have all unpaid fees covered, lost books paid for, uniforms returned, etc.

School Messenger will also be utilized to send out a message to all households. If a message did not come to the number you requested, please contact the appropriate principal's office.
